Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your arrival date. After that we keep the full amount — by then we've usually turned other people away for those dates.

No. Eagle View is a campsite on our working farm — no reception desk, no staff on duty. The family that farms here handles the bookings and admin around a normal working day. You get in with a gate code we email you after payment.

As soon as we receive your payment, we email a confirmation with your invoice and the gate code together.

No — it's open ground, first come first served. We cap the number of bookings per weekend, so you won't arrive to find nowhere to put a tent. Set up wherever suits you.

No. Power points are centrally located — you'll need your own extension cord and a caravan adaptor if you're in a caravan. Electricity is included at no extra charge.

No. We don't rent out any camping equipment. Bring your own tent, caravan, or whatever you camp in.

No. We don't have full-time staff on site for tent setup — even if you offer to pay. Come prepared to set up on your own.

No — only booked, paying guests come through the gate. It's the main reason the place stays quiet, so we don't make exceptions.

Yes, and we mean it — but they need to be well trained, kept under control, and not the kind that barks at everything. One barking dog carries across the whole site.

We expect it to be, and we'll say something if it isn't. This is a working farm, not a party venue. Keep the noise down, especially at night.

Absolutely. Tents, caravans, rooftop tents — however you camp is welcome.

A lapa (covered building with a fireplace) open to all guests. The ablution block has 3 hot showers per gender (gas-powered), 3 toilets in the ladies', and 2 toilets plus 2 urinals in the men's.

The campsite is fully fenced, and the farm's security does 24/7 patrols in the surrounding area. It's still a farm in the open countryside, so use the same common sense you would anywhere — lock the car, don't leave gear lying loose.

There are two hiking paths. The easier path (an old gravel road) is always accessible. The steeper path is more scenic but sometimes overgrown — we clear it every few weeks. Both are at your own risk and not suitable for very unfit visitors.

Wartburg town, roughly 15 minutes' drive — fuel station, supermarket, basics.

Wartburg has a handful of restaurants, coffee shops and pubs. Ask us when you book and we'll point you to current favourites.

Albert Falls Dam (hiking and fishing), the Neuenkirche church in Harburg, viewpoints across the Valley of a Thousand Hills, and Pietermaritzburg about 45 minutes' drive away.

Wartburg has a small garage for emergencies.
